Our Story
Hi, I’m Christine - a fellow dairy lover. I grew up loving cheese boards, flat whites, ice cream, yoghurt… you name it. Dairy was a joy in my life.
But I wasn’t always lactose intolerant.
In 2021, I contracted cryptosporidiosis, a parasitic infection that completely wrecked my gut microbiome. Ever since, dairy and I haven’t gotten along. Even small amounts left me bloated, cramping or rushing to the bathroom - and I found myself choosing between discomfort and giving up the foods I loved.
Like every dairy-loving lactose-intolerant person does, I tried to solve it myself. I tested countless supplements on the market hoping something would help me enjoy dairy again. What I found was that most products contained very low doses of lactase, and they assumed that dairy was just about lactose.
But dairy isn’t just lactose - it’s lactose, proteins and fats, and my sensitive, IBS-prone gut struggled to digest all three.
So I started experimenting. I learned that if I combined lactase with digestive enzymes that break down dairy proteins (casein) and fats, I felt significantly better.
The problem? The dosages.
Most lactase supplements on the market are around 3,000 FCC per pill. To get the relief I needed, I would take ten of them — plus another five digestive enzyme capsules containing protease and lipase just to handle the proteins and fats.
Not only was that ridiculous and expensive, it still wasn’t perfect.
At that point, I realised: if I wanted a simple, effective, high-strength solution… I’d have to build it myself.
That’s how Tri-Milk was born - a one-pill solution designed for dairy lovers who want to enjoy dairy without the drama.
